I started out Modeling at the age of 18 when I was starting to serve National Service in the Singapore Navy in the late 80s. An amazing era, where the Original Supermodels like Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington, Claudia Schiffer, Tyra Banks dominated the modelling industry and made it an extremely high profile and lucrative career worldwide. That spearheaded the local scene with Supermodels like Ethel Fong, Hanis Hussey, Helen Chua, Pat Kraal, Jane Chong. This made it possible for my Male Model peers to achieve a high profile too and led to the generation of male stars within our model agency like Christopher Lee, Chuan Do, Tay Ping Hui in Singapore.

The girls in my school at Catholic Junior College especially were really into the whole movement and piqued my interests to consider becoming a model. Just beginning to serve National Service, I picked up a copy of Teens Magazine quite by chance and noticed that there was a model competition organised by Teens and Carrie Models. One of the Top Agencies in Singapore then. Not having a proper picture, I took a snapshot of myself in the car park of my family's apartment and sent the application to the magazine for entry to their Mr/Ms Teens Contest. Amazingly for a newbie, I won the Contest ! I still remember that as one of the happiest moment of my life, as it was a tough competition and it was completely unexpected. That marked my entry to work with the best models with the best agency, with the best brands in Singapore.

My successful entry into the best model agency led Carrie Models to aggressively promote me for the Catwalk, Runway Shows. Modeling the Top Fashion Brands in Men's Wear, Accessories and Perfume. Hugo Boss, Versace, Calvin Klein, DKNY, Paco Rabanne, Cerruti are one of the many top brands I did. The agency was very supportive and caring towards me, and sent me out for their best shows and castings. That was where I was fortunate to be taught by the best Male Models and Choreographers in the agency like Ashley Aeria, Rizal and Daniel Boey. It is so fun to do their Graduating Fashion Shows ! I remember I did mine at the now Grand Hyatt, in Singapore.

I took part in more Male Pageant and Modeling Contests soon after, most notably the Male Look of the Year Award (now Best Model of the World) which I won and to become ManHunt's (Int'l) FIRST Male Ambassador to represent Singapore in their FIRST International ManHunt Competition in Gold Coast, Australia. The FIRST INTERNATIONAL PAGEANT FOR MEN in the world ! Yup, I became part of history by being the FIRST Singapore Model / Ambassador to be represented in a Men's International Pageant. Great credit must be given to the support and sponsorship of Singapore's Top Designer Francis Cheong and ManHunt Organiser, Alex Liu who made these events possible for me at that time. It is always nice to win a few awards as accreditation to your work. LOL

At the Peak of my Fashion Modeling in the mid 90s, I just graduated from my B.B.B.A. (Bachelor of Business in Business Administration) from R.M.I.T (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology) and decided that I should focus on my corporate career prospects. After all at that time, that is what a degree is meant for. For the next 10 years, I made a decision that I was done with modeling and that it had become a closed chapter of my life. Despite my active participation in Fashion, Media and Entertainment, I was never much in for Fame, Glamour nor Glitz. So it came quite natural for me to just retire.

Yet in 2006, the meeting up of my mentor Christine Ty from Beeswork Casting in Suntec, changed and evolved my life again ! Being the fun loving and charismatic director she is, she convinced me to take up some jobs with her agency. At that point, after so long I thought - what have I got to lose. Just go for it and have some fun to relive the yesteryears in Fashion Modeling. So I did one job for them.. then another.. and another...and the jobs just keep rolling in ! Beeswork represents me honestly, earnestly and they did an incredible job of promoting me to the Top of Commercial Modeling in 2007. SUN NEWS. The New Paper on Sunday by Cara van Miriah, articles above how "Mature Models Draw Top Dollars", which highlights and summates the top advertising and monetary achievements of myself and Beeswork in this area. I am extremely thankful for Beeswork, the Press and Advertising Clients for representing me so thoughtfully and highly to this day.

Shortly after my IBM campaign, my meeting up of Ms. En Jye and Kelly Lim graciously connected me with Mediacorp Studios where I was introduced softly to the team. My work with Mediacorp 8 really began when I was fortunate to meet up with lovely sweet Jesedy who works for the department. She prepped me up for a line up of Casting Photos and began my entry work to work with the Top Stars of Mediacorp 8 ! I owe her so much ! She's a Gem.

My first ever Mediacorp Channel 8 Show (Chinese) was on Happily Ever After 凡间新仙人 in early 2007. As a newbie to acting, I was fortunate to be cast alongside Joanne Peh, Elvin Ng, Ben Yeo, Huang WenYong for that scene. It was a very intense moment for me as a Police Chief. Its my first time in acting, acting in mandarin and working with these top young stars without much prep ! The director was certainly giving me a lot of heat and it took all my modeling experience to keep it cool, collected and delivered my lines successfully. Joanne and Elvin were sweet and patient with me and helped me to transit into the Channel 8 Medium successfully. This is followed suite with Mediacorp 8 and Movies like Mars vs Venus 幸福双人床, Honour & Passion 宝家卫国, The Defining Point 沸腾冰点, Romance in March 烟花三月, Baby Bonus 添丁发财.

Over the years now the stars, actors and celebrities whom I have been fortunate to work with, have been very gracious and patient, for which has made it possible for me to continue my development as an actor. It is my hope to be able to act many leading roles in the future with Top International Movie and Production Studios, to further my career in this area.

As I continue upward on this journey, here's to my many benefactors whom have made it possible for me to realise my dream and succeed in becoming a better person, model and actor each day. Thank you everyone !
